Description

The listing, Special program organic spinach seeds very rare crossed variety has ended.

These were not free I bought them. Here is the story behind them. Abundant bloomsdale spinach open pollinated cross USDA certified organic from adaptive seed company. OSS seed initiative project.

Spinach, Abundant Bloomsdale (Organic)
Spinacia oleracea. 45 days.
Glossy, thick, heavily savoyed, succulent leaves can get quite large while still maintaining a good, sweet flavor. Very dark green leaves have an upright growth habit for ease of harvest either as baby leaf or when mature. Cool-weather tolerant but also resists bolting in the heat. Abundant Bloomsdale is the result of a breeding project with the classic Bloomsdale spinach crossed to a disease resistant variety called Evergreen. The resulting cross was then heavily re-selected by market farmer seed stewards in collaboration with the Organic Seed Alliance and John Navazio. A portion of the proceeds of this variety will go to further support the Organic Seed Alliance’s breeding program.

Seed produced at The Organic Farm School on Whidbey Island, Washington.

Certified Organic By Oregon Tilth
