Oops, I just realized this is the XNK version of the auction. The rational here then would be just to have something rare, special and desirable from the standpoint of a lot of coin collector available on LIstia, just like they are available on eBay, other than standard gold and silver listings.

I understand you wiling to pay so much money on eBay for someone; why does it have to be a 1909 S VDB, why can't the Item(s) equal what you're Willing to Pay, just Curious!?!$!

Hmm...Well that's a good question. I guess I could say I would buy anything up to $999 on eBay, but that is kind of like a gift certificate. Credits won with gift certificate listings are different from other ones. THey can't be resold to Listia. I wanted this listing to be for something really rare and special such as a 1909 S VDB penny, so a Listian coin collector with a lot of left over credits won with gift cards could buy something special other than gold and silver.

"Here’s the story behind this rare but popular coin. See why it’s so rare, and what it’s worth today…The 1909 S VDB penny is indeed one of the most expensive regular-strike (non-error) rarities of modern U.S. coins. It is also one of those coins that has seen virtually nothing but upward trends in values for the last several decades." - https://coins.thefuntimesguide.com/1909_s_vdb_penny-2/ (the second Google result when using the keywords: "1909S" "VDB", without the quotes)

As for being overpriced, the floating or real value of XNK is about 3.2251 cents not 14 cents or the 9 cents Listia exchanges at the moment (see: https://walletinvestor.com/converter/ink-protocol/usd/1 and https://idex.market/eth/xnk). Using the latter 42,000 XNK would turn into 37,800 minus the 10% GIN price. 37,800 multiplied time 0.032251 = $1,219. That is hardly "way overpriced." There are also fees along the way for converting XNK to Ethereum and then to dollars through Coinbase.

If I were listening to Rick from Pawn Stars, the price should be double what I paid for it, so if I pay $999, I should get back $2000 for labor, overhead, fees losses from other badly priced items etc. Also the floating price of XNK has been fluctuating more than 20% in some 2-3 day periods. If I don't build in a cushion and don't change my prices every day, which is difficult, then I could lose money. That's what Rick's double your money pricing is about. It's all the intangibles that must be built into the price. The GIN fee would be part of that overhead, but $2000 divided by 0.032251 = 62013.581, so 42,000 XNK is a bargain.
