No there are no markings. Its just gold tone. The chain and the whistle. Its really a duty whistle, and honestly I don't know any police or security officer that will buy real silver or gold to work with unless its a special occasion. Sorry.

Yes! These are real duty whistles. They can be used for kids, sports, as a rape whistle. Anything. The harder you blow the louder it gets.

My husband says they are new! The company he worked for opened the packages, and just threw them in a drawer and left them there. The company was bought out, and my husband got to keep the whistles. We won't ever use them.
