Description

The listing, Scott #642 Monroe Block of 4-MNH!!! has ended.

Hello my fellow Listia postage stamp friends!!After a couple week reprieve and not much time for much of anything but work I finally have some time to put a few more things up for auction.
Up for bids is a very nice block of four of Scott #642 Monroe with all stamps being mint never hinged with full gum. These have nice color and centering is fine/very fine which is typical for this series.Note-the upper and lower right stamps have either some die cracks or some kind of minimal ink bleed on them(not sure which)but do not really distract from the beauty of these stamps and can hardly be seen without a glass. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.Thank you for looking and good luck!!

Okay,I will do international on this group of auctions. But please keep in mind that although I try to pack things so they are safe and sound and should survive anything short of an armageddon once it leaves the post office here I cannot be responsible for what happens to it thereafter.Have not had any problems yet i'm just covering my tush!!That being said, thanks for stopping in and good luck if you decide to bid!!

Well you got me on this one big D. I don't like the orange yellow issues because I can't see them worth a damn. Otherwise I'd take it to 4000 anyway. But I'm bowing out now. Thanks for your auctions my friend. You don't have to make them so extended and you don't need the bolds and etc. Put up a GIN instead and do a 7 dayer. We will all check it out I'm sure. I will for sure but that's not enough. Big D seems to have been here for awhile and Sue and coinstamps. Anyway thanks again still wanna see those buffalos.

:Actually,it's funny you mention the whole premium aspect I sometimes put on my auctions.I was thinking the other day:is it even necessary to spend all those extra credits on a auction that everyone here in our stamp community will end up seeing anyway? And I came up with the conclusion that no I really don't need all the bells and whistles(such as they are).I still consider myself to be a definite newbie at this and am flexible enough to try out new ways of doing things.Next group of items I put up I will make the days shorter and give GIN a shot.I am very appreciative that you take an interest in my auctions and any feedback or advice is always welcome.Lol,man you really want those 30 centers'!!If I find that I have a dup block stashed somewhere you will be the first to know!Oh,nice blackjack btw.

Ol' Slim is absolutely correct. I've been on here since right after they began, and I've experimented with all sorts of things....to see what gets the best results. What I can offer to you is this.....and it ONLY applies to STAMP auctions. One needs to realize the the stamp collectors are a VERY small community on Listia. The ONLY people that will look at stamp auctions are....surprise....stamp collectors. And that's way less than 1% of Listia members. So, keeping that in mind, paying extra for premiuim or featured listings really is a waste of credits. First of all, the serious collectors stay on top of the listings. They really don't need more than 3-4 days. They are very well aware of what's listed. It's extremely rare for me to list anything for more than 3 days. Another thing, too.....if you have really good pics, you don't need to write detailed descriptions. The pics says it all. There are, of course, exceptions to that. If you have any specific questions about what I've learned over the past 2+ years, just ask, and I'll be glad to oblige.

Hey Doodlebug.Very good points one and all.The stamp collectors here are a very small (but knowledgeable)group of people.Snail and I talked about this the other day;the fact that we are a small group of people and we do tend to bid on each others items often.I have noticed your auctions are almost always 3 or 4 days and they seem to do great,as they should.Yes,pictures are priceless!!Absolutely critical to a good auction.Thank you for your comments,Doddlebug. And I can be a man of many questions so don't be surprised if I ask a few!!
