This is what I copied from McDonald's website: "Unfortunately, due to the differing currencies and exchange rates, McDonald’s U.S. gift certificates are good only in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Also McDonald’s Home Office does not have gift certificates for countries outside of the U.S. You may want to address your question to the McDonald’s office in the country of interest." So that would be a yes!!

Since our dollar is less valuable than Canada's, Canadians will get more out of the $5 card than we. I encourage Canadians to check the exchange rate to make sure.
