Description

The listing, Creature Card #25 Gouache Edition. Original Artwork by Rhonda Chase (ATC ACEO) has ended.

This auction is for Creature Card #25 in the Gouache Edition.

PLEASE READ!! <I'm going to try things a little different this month and maybe next. I'm going to draw and ink in the design and try to post the drawing with the auction start at 6:15 or shortly after. That evening when the kids are asleep I'll paint the card before bed and post the finished image the next day. For the first few hours of the auction (if a drawing is posted) I will take suggestions on how to color the creature.>

The Painting will be finished the day of the posting. This card is the standard regulation size of 3.5" x 2.5" or 2.5" x 3.5" respectively. It is done in Gouache (an opaque watercolor like paint) on quality watercolor paper. You receive the original work of art and not a copy. These cards are mailed in an acid free top loader for their protection and for your display should you choose not to frame the work.

My goal with this project is to spread art around the globe and what better place then here, at what better price then free! I will attempt to make and post a new card every day for the whole year!

I encourage the winning bidder to give the creature a name if they like :) (and any other information about the character such as gender, scale and any other defining attributes they choose)

I retain the copy write to the image. At the end of the year all the images and stories will be compiled into a book!

I have a bachelors degree in art, am internationally recognized and have shown in a museum (just to name a few things.) My resume is available upon request.

Thanks for looking! I appreciate your comments and your time. I always fan back :)

since I been studying the ocean recently I would say it looks like a sea slug out of the water ^_^
I like it the twist gives it nice movement, I would say make the creature darker than the back round but I cant think of any colors :P Good luck, can't wait to see the finished piece!!

to me it looks like a venus fly trap eating Micky mouse... but what everyone else will see I can never guess. Darker than the background... like yesterday. I liked that. The yellow in the back was really nice. Don't know if it would work for that but I could possibly do a green. I appreciate the good luck. Got a good laugh at it actually lol. That is how I feel at the end of the day. This month it's like doing two drawings since I split up the work. At night I have to look at it and think... now what lol. I love it when you guys help takes so much weight off.

I'm so glad you asked! Starting January 3rd I began to explore a website I had recently been recommended to. Once I started to understand the premise of Listia I fell in love. Inspired by another portrait artist's auction I had a deep desire to post work on the site for trade. Since I'm so slow at making portraits it didn't seem as effective to post portraits for bidding; however, it had been so long since I sat down and doodled I came up with the idea to draw a doodle a day for posting and that each doodle would be some sort of creature. What better a New Year's resolution then to draw something every day for a whole year, and give it away! I choose to draw them initially on 3 x 5 index cards for a couple reasons. I had a bunch I'm not using and they fit into a regular size envelope making them relatively inexpensive to mail. I have since transitioned to ATC size creatures. The goal of these drawing's is to spread art among the people in an affordable way. What better way than to give them away free! There are additional benefits as well. The process encourages me to draw every day, practicing and honing my skills. I am stepping outside my comfort zone by meeting new people daily and letting go of my creations. I have found this to be an exciting experiment and I am learning so much. There is no way of knowing where this year could take me!

There is lots of information in my blog of each card the day they come into existence, including my thoughts and the lessons I am learning. Check it out when you get a chance! http://www.rhondachase.com
