Relaxed — 6 1/4” — call it 7” with less “sides” — so about 14” around (see pics)..

Easily stretch 48” around— we did this on a 13 gal. (50L) trash can we had here (see pictures).

To get the “around” (circumference) of your can — measure the “across” (diameter) & multiply by 3.14.

Great for typical smaller office & bathroom trash cans— on one bathroom can here it measured 9 1/4” across & it was not loose — still held the plastic bag tight (see pictures).

Our outside is I think 32 gal. it is about 60” around — this band stretched & fit (see pics). There was some stretch left — so possibly would work for a larger size?
