Description

The listing, Native American Turtle Necklace/Earrings Set has ended.

Beautiful Native American necklace and earrings set, with hematite and awesome red stone beads and turtle. I used to know the name of the stone that the turtle and accessory beads are made of, but I've forgotten, I'm sorry! But it is a beautiful set!
And they have never been worn!

The necklace is unique in that it is clasp-less... it has something like a spring-wire that stays wrapped around the neck without a clasp.

Also included is a paper that explains the...
"Meaning of a Turtle...
The turtle represents longevity, a symbol of Mother Earth. It is also a symbol for one who has a lot of patience."

Free shipping to US only!

By any chance is the hematite magnetic? I won a hematite necklace and I was at the flea market and a guy had one that was magnetic.. he said that's the way hematite is and he implied mine wasn't really hematite... I don't know if he is right and I haven't looked it up yet. I was just wondering about yours...

Hematite is magnetic... however, it's an extremely low field/level of magnetism... they aren't like refrigerator magnets. The pieces on these items especially are so small, they would not attract to metal. In fact, I have another necklace made entirely of Hematite, and even it's not strong enough to 'pull' or attract to metal. I am guessing yours was the same, it probably was Hematite, but the magnetism was too low to notice with the naked eye. I've seen very few 'fakes' when it comes to Hematite, because it's difficult to reproduce it's beautiful colors, plus Hematite isn't highly expensive to begin with, so it's not worth it to fake it! :-D

Thanks for the info... this guy's necklace- he said- didn't need a clasp because it was hematite and the two ends would just stick together. Could you tell me who made your jewelry and why you call it Native American? Did a Native American person make it, or is that a NA style, or what? Anyway, pretty....

Hmm, never seen any Hematite 'stick' together... unless they have a magnetic 'clasp' lol
We were told that both sets I have listed were purchased in a reservation/tribe store in Arizona... I believe they were made by the person selling them. Also, the style is very similar to other 'Native American' jewelry.

Thanks! A magnetic clasp is exactly what the guy said was going on....

yah, I've had numerous necklaces and bracelets with magnetic clasps, but they were actual full strength magnets in the clasp... not hematite in the clasps lol.

Not really sure... they were from a friend of my mom, he used to bring her all kinds of NA jewelry and clothes from diff places all over AZ... he gave her these a few years ago & I'm not sure where exactly these are from. Good luck & thanks for your interest!
