that is where there is a cast or facimille of an item made so you can reproduce it.the cast sometimes was made in sand. it is like a pattern or mold..any kind of a liquid metal can be used to cast.like a small production line. hope that helps..you know a safer way might be Ask.com..lolll.

i have many pieces of turq,every piece is differant in every way.I think this is bonded or stabilized turquoise.because of the detail paid to the cast part.This is like some jewelers can't tell cubics from diamonds without a test kit.
