Oh, these are cute! Try taking photos of things like this on a white background. I take photos and then crop them in really tight with my photo editing software. I use HP Photosmart, which is a free download. It's a bit of a learning curve but once you figure it out you can edit a photo in a few seconds. The software also allows you to adjust the contrast to help them pop.

I actually use a lot of stock photos but I usually edit them somewhat, crop etc. When I take my own photos I try to set up a BUNCH of things to photograph all at one time, set up a nice white space on my desk, and I use desk lamps to throw light and shadow on the items. It's kind of a big job but the photos come out nice.

For cell phone photos these are pretty good, actually. But try taking your photos on a white background, even just a piece of paper. It helps make the photo less busy.

Uh yeah ... no. Stay away from fur. You want a plain white background. Something simple, white paper or plain white fabric. LOL ... you can try it if you want but I'm not sure it will give you the effect you are looking for!
