Description

The listing, Antique Railway Saucer Made in England has ended.

I just have this one little 5½” saucer with a railway scene on it. Here’s what I know about it.

It was produced from Portland Pottery company from Cobirdge England circa 1946 -1953. It has a beautiful geometric black and yellow border with a hillside scene and an old fashion train engine, coal car and coach. It is approximately 5½" in diameter and in good condition with no nicks, chips or cracks,

There are twostamps on this piece, first one is Railway Made in England for P.V. and the other is Portland Pottery Ltd Regal works Cobridge Made in England.

It’s quite difficult to capture a photo without some flashback. This saucer is in perfect condition but you see some camera flash marks in the upper mountain range. I took tons of photos, but this one turned out the best.

I think it’s lovely and definately a unique pattern. I only have one, which is why I put it up for auction here. It is a saucer, not a plate as you mention in your comment. It looks to me like it had a cup that went with it at one time. It is hard to see on the photo that it is very slightly curved in like a bowl - but ever so slight. I think it looks pretty on a little plate rack in a cabinet or even as a pretty little dish on a dresser or table. It’s in very nice condition too. I hope you bid and thanks for watching.
