I thought you could not self promote on someone elses auction comments. For example commenting "I have the same stuffed bear for half the asking price on my auction." BESIDES this is a call to listers to support an increase and/or take notice that not everyone selling is wanting blood. That those few sellers are in it to make a difference, socially and financially. This run in comments hopefully will wakeup the buyers and sellers. Hi sergc! I am a long-time user here to say Kudos to you! I support you and this cause 100%. WATCHING AND BIDDING!! You are doing a wonderful thing here by trying to spread awareness about the unfortunate state Listia is in. I apologize for those that are long-winded and have nothing better to do than to monitor and critique others' auctions by reciting rules & policies and by pointing their finger. They are not being helpful nor doing anything positive by trying to find fault in an innocent auction. Especially when there are so many auctions with REAL and SIGNIFICANT violations that need their attention, lol! Seriously!!

Keep up the great attitude and your desire for change! You are already making a difference more than you realize! :)

I am also a long-time member (since 2011 originally, despite my profile stating 2014 - long story I'll explain to anyone if they're interested), The site has been going terribly downhill since Dec. 2015 and there are many, many things now wrong with the site. That being said, wrong is wrong and it doesn't help anyone when members do not abide by the policies. It just makes a bad impression for everyone else! This should have been set up as a tiered auction perhaps, but enticing watchers is against the policies, plain & simple. I didn't write the policies so no need to shoot the messenger!

HI! You've always had wonderful listings over the years with impeccable feedback!! We've been fans of each others for many years and I LOVE Listia too! Many people had issues with the transition (for whatever reason) to XNK and unfortunately left the site :(

With that said, I'm going to have to agree with Dewdrop58, because I know the Policies/Terms of the site. The Mods probably won't delete your listing, however they do consider it "promoting your listing" when asking for watchers, and in years past they used to be much stricter with the rules and delete listings (for "promoting") then they are now, but till on occasion they step in. They also used to delete listings for repeating Listia Policies in their description, but so many do it now that it's not even looked at -- I was one of the people that used to put that kind of info in my listings and was luckily told I had to modify or my auctions would get deleted.
I know many hands have been slapped over they years for different violations, that they had no clue were such because they didn't know the Policies/rules. And just recently, a very long time Listian was banned from bidding forever, because the Mod said that person bid on listings that were against the rules, and what the rules state.

Name calling is very much against the policies too! I know many long-time Listian's still on the site that no longer list items, for various reasons [not my story to tell], but they still participate in earning and spending their XNK and being an active part of Listia, so it's really not fair to judge them based on what they list or don't list!
I totally agree with you on the overcharging and gouging for XNK! I just don't understand why someone would pay 2-3 times over what for what something is worth and was truly hoping that the transition would bring everyone back down to earth, but it still happens. But there are still MANY great Long-time Listian's here that love the site =_)

I agree. It used to be fun and we supported each other. I do not like these changes which is why I haven't listed anything in a while. I joined years ago when it was credit based and items, new or used, were from REAL people with realistic pricing. Now, when I try to find something I am looking for, the pricing is RIDICULOUS or you have to look through pages and pages of cheap garbage from China! I'll call them out...WISH!!! If I wanted that garbage I'd go to their trashy site and pay the cheap $1 prices instead!!! Now, if I am looking for something, I go back to Listians I have dealt with in the past and check out their pages and see what they have. I don't have hours to waste on that China garbage. We need the ORIGINAL Listia back!!

I agree, when I joined here it was fun. Now people ask outrageous prices for items and most is junk from China. I always looked at this site to offer items fairly for those that can’t afford to buy for themselves. It’s gotten very greedy. Hope you make it to 200+ watchers. Good luck

I know another member who was flagged/reported for asking for & rewarding watchers, but Listia responded by saying it's only against policy to SPAM members with emails or w/ comments on their auction page requesting watchers/bidders.

It IS against policy to harass members though
and I think that negative comments like.....
"You know that it's against policy to...(x)"
"You know this site is for xnk only & not cash right?"
"You know that you have to actually ship this right?"
"This is against policy & has been flagged/reported."
Those comments are a condescending form of negative harassment :(
I've seen comments like those made to many members repeatedly :(

I've also seen many members Leave/Quit shortly after being tag teamed with similar comments :( Wouldn't it be better/nicer to comment positively with.....

Scaring off or attempting to scare off newer or long time members with negative comments limits Listia's growth and eventually hurts the Listia economy when we lose both potential buyers & sellers :(

They delete this; but allow all the naked females with skimpy underwear; Putting things up for auction with F**k this that or something else !!! Let the scammers in like roaches and take over everything! I for one am sick of it!!!!

Over 200 watchers, great job, I'm happy even though I can't win it, and for seeing people who really care and understand the concept of this amazing site(app).

No, those are against policy as well. Unfortunately, the mods have been so swamped with trying to deal with all the trash since drop shippers, third party sellers have been allowed on the site and now all the kids and scammers that it appears it is difficult for them to police their own policies. Breaking the policies doesn't help anyone though. It just condones bad behavior and indicates to others that they can also get away with breaking the policies. It also adds to the work load of the mods.

Then there are snakes in the grass that portray themselves as good Listians who do little but line their own pockets, by commenting "nice" comments on hundreds of listings in an attempt to dupe others, especially newbies. One of the worst offenders has commented above as well as bid on this. It is members such as she that should be curtailed!

It is sad that so many long-time, good Listians have left and the site is no longer the community it once was. That all started to change when sellers no longer were required to have their items in hand and only got worse when the dollar/credit ratio was allowed to rise more than 400% in less than a year's time!

Bottom line: the owners have shown they care little for members or how we fell when they decided to change the format and "feel" of the site as well as change to cryptocurrency in order to increase profits for themselves. Look at who is profiting from many listings....the owners themselves! They don't even have the decency to list under an actual profile name.

Your intent with this listing is commendable but rather than ask for watchers, which is prohibited you could have just said winner would receive the extra amount if the bid reaches such and such or made it a mystery card listing or any other number of ways that are in keeping with the policies.

So happy to see this! I was around for the old Listia before it switched to XNK. I miss those days. Watching until the end!
