Description

The listing, Catnip seeds has ended.

This auction is for 15+ Organic Catnip seeds from my garden this year. All of my seeds are heirloom and non-GMO. Catnip does grow fast and prolifically so don't plant it somewhere unless you don't mind it taking over that area. It makes a wonderful container plant.

Catnip is native to Southern Europe, but is widely naturalized all over Europe and North America, where some of the best quality in the world is grown in the state of Washington. It is a gray-green perennial that grows up to three feet high and looks incredibly similar to species of the mint family, which it is a part of. Catnip is, as its name suggests, the herb of choice for cats. A member of the mint, catnip attracts cats of all breeds and sizes, who often run up to the herb, paw it, roll in it, meow loudly, and then suddenly lose interest in the herb for hours or days until sensitivity to the herb “resets” itself.

Can you please tell me how to grow the Cat Nip? Do I Plant the seeds in shallow soil or do I first need to sprout them in a wet paper towel. Once started what climate and type of lighting do the plants like? Indirect light or full Son and do these plants need constant water or more dry soil please? Thank YOU!! Bidding!

I found a site that actually does a great job explaining everything. Just adding that I live in central SC and I do have to plant it in a partially shaded area. Also after drying the leaves, I would suggest putting it in an airtight container, or freezer ziplock with all excess air squeezed out. It stays fresh forever! But just look this up and you can ask me anything that you need!

I don't even know if there is such a thing as clovers, but I can guarantee that my seeds are catnip. I grow it, my cats go crazy for it, and I collect the seeds yearly.
