Description

The listing, PINK ROSES Love Ring handmade by PamReily with upcycled American postage stamp has ended.

This ring is handmade by me, using a simple adjustable ring base and a clear piece of glass with which I have created an image under glass cabochon using a postally-used American postage stamp from the LOVE series.

The piece of glass measures 22mm square (about 7/8") and is 5mm thick (about 3/16").

Though the cabochon was sealed on the back, this ring should not be considered waterproof. Please do not wear it swimming, showering, etc.

Shipping is FREE to the US and Canada! :)

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! And MINE~!~ I can not believe the talent you posses! I am so fascinated with your work! How long does it take to make one?

It's actually a reasonably simple process---more of it is drying time for the adhesives and the finish on the back. I start with a clear piece of glass, and then use an adhesive like DG3 or 3D Crystal Lacquer to attach a neat piece of paper, like a used postage stamp, piece of road map, origami paper, etc...
After that dries, I trim away the excess paper and seal the back with several coats of Mod Podge followed by several coats of Triple Thick glaze (the brush on kind). Then, glue on the adjustable ring blank and I'm done. :)
I guess all together it takes about 10 minutes of work, but it took me a long time to perfect my processes...I have been creating image-under-glass for 12 years, first as mosaic tiles, and now also as jewelry cabochons. :)

I've put at least 50,000 stamps under glass in the last decade, most for mosaic tiles---you're right...stamps are fantastic for different images! :) THANKS for the compliment--fanned you back :)
