You need a new mechanic. You can't tell if the heads need to be shaved (milled) without actually pulling the heads off of the engine and sending them to a machine shop to be checked for flatness. No mechanic would of gone to that extent just for a diagnosis. He's either 1) guessing, or 2) trying to rip you off, or 3) doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

Thanks for the heads up, you might be right I been going to the same mechanic for years but he did been slacking for the last 2 times I went. I don't know if he put it on the machine but he did had the car for 3 days at the shop before he told us that the heads need to be shaved and he said its only that high because its hard to get to.

That's the point though, it's labor intensive to pull the heads, the whole top of the engine has to come off. You have a V6 in that car, so both heads would have to be surfaced. No mechanic could know if the heads needed to be milled without removing them and sending them to a machine shop for testing. No mechanic would pull the heads without a commitment to repair, because so much labor would be lost.
Take the car to another mechanic, and take someone that knows about cars with you when you do. You have the right to question the mechanic, and have him "show" you what he found.
Good luck!

I see what you are saying he must have been guessing, so maybe its something simple and I should take it to another mechanic but I already have my eyes on another van ;-). I was gonna donate the car at first but my daughter thought putting it on here would be fun. Guess if noone bids I still donate it to bridge house a homeless shelter in nola. Thanks for your advice though :-)

Wow.... you're very brave to put your vehicle on here.... I think I would definitely have to agree with the gentleman who left the last comment, and take it somewhere else and let it be checked out by someone who knows exactly what is wrong and can show you what is wrong. This is the very first vehicle I've ever seen on here..... again.. you're very brave to list it on here. I don't think I would be brave enough to list our vehicle on this site. Good luck either way with your vehicle. :) Wishing you all of the best of luck with all of your future endeavors with listings on listia!! Take care and hope that you have a great day!! May God bless!!

Lol thanks and brave well the van just been sitting for the last 2 or 3 month guess I got tired of looking at it. I saw a few cars on here but all listed by people with 0 feedback so they probably been fake.
I might take it to another mechanic, its not like I want the van anymore I was gonna donate it at first and my daughter said put it on listia ma so I thought yeah why not

Donating would be a great option. There are plenty of worthy organisations that could use a vehicle. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with this car. I'll add this to my watch list just so I can keep an eye on it's progress.

I understand what you're saying about the 0 Feedback and being fake, but I won a laptop once from someone who had well Over 200 feedback All positive and She was a Scammer. some ppl build up credits so you can trust them., but I've learned if all the credit is from small things...not to trust them.
great auction though, fanning too, fan back

you can put sodium silocate if the head is warped/needs shaved. its also called liquid glass..works great! i have used them in 2 of my vehicles and 10 years later the one i kept is still going strong...
if you plan on keeping it...wish you were closer i would totally snatch it up
