The listing, Interesting 1872 Ceylon stamp, used, Scott #71 has ended.
Hello fellow stampers! This is an interesting 1872 Ceylon stamp, used, Scott #71. In addition to being very old and still in reasonably good condition, it shows a printing method that some printers used in the early days of stamps. "The wide margin was a method used by some printers to delineate panes of stamps from sheets. Through this method, stamp panes could be separated from sheets without cutting. This process was eliminated at a later time to keep all stamps uniform, alike." Thank you to HOD of Listia for this great explanation.
