you can buy a $10, $20, $25 or $40 pre-paid card for it. each amount gets you different data packages. I liked it because I could use it anywhere I went, but I got internet at home now. It works as long virgin mobile coverage is in your area. This will help anyone wanting to know if they will have coverage -----> http://www.virginmobileusa.com/check-cell-phone-coverage

I had two of these, they worked great. They use the Sprint network, so theres towers everywhere. The price is pretty good too. When i had one it was $40 unlimited plan, not sure what it is now. I think they throttle you after a certain amount of bandwith per month but its alot. For prepaids, these are the best ones, best price, best plan, best coverage.
