It's brand New and has no damage what so ever, it will be packaged to keep it that way. This is a great conversational piece. I'm very sorry to hear that. I know how lonely it can be. My brother has is in a nursing home and can't come visit. We also can't go see him, and they have told all the residents they have to stay in their rooms
