Description

The listing, The Wizard of Odd has ended.

This unusual pontificating wizard is a conversation piece! I know it is old,but I do not know its age or origin (that is suiting, huh?) I found it among several figurines brought back from various places: Japan, Africa, and India at an estate sale. It came from the home of a math professor who was a world traveler. Except for the very tip of his tippy toes (the points of his shoes) that have been chipped off, he is in excellent condition. It is fairly heavy for a smaller piece, and feels like it might have been made from iron ore or some type of clay that has an iron feel to it. It is approximately 7 3/4" tall and has a kind face and a tall hat. If you just need a wizard, like wizards, or collect wizards, it is a great piece!

You must've had a very strange fourth grade teacher!!! He reminds me more of my seventh grade science teacher, and I so liked that fellow! I suspected it was handmade also . . . at the estate sale there was a table full of just figurines he had brought back from his world travels and many of them were stamped from where they were made such as Japan and India, some of them were fairly obvious where they were from even though they were not stamped, and then there was this fellow! He stood out and that is why I chose him. He is a mystery!

I truly appreciate you asking and your interest, but seven day auctions is about what it takes for interested parties to even find your auction. I will consider lowering the shipping price (I will see if I can edit it) but I cannot do it totally free as this piece is actually pretty heavy. It is solid all the way through.
