Description

The listing, Holly Hobbie Lunchbox has ended.

Remember when Holly Hobbie was taking over the world? That sneaky little girl popped up out of nowhere and stole our hearts! The conspiracy to take over the world started in 1967 when American Greetings released a series of greeting cards that featured a little girl in a blue-checked dress and an oversized bonnet. Before long she had taken over cake pans, clothes, easy bake ovens, lamps, blankets . . . and yes, lunchboxes! Aladdin (not the genie, the corporation) released a series of four Holly Hobbie metal lunchboxes with plastic thermoses from 1972 to 1985. This particular lunchbox was made in 1975. The plastic thermos, however, has either gone to Holly Hobbie heaven or was abducted by aliens. Through my research I discovered how to date these:
1972 - red trim
1975 - dark blue trim
1979 - blue plaid trim
1985 - light blue trim
Please note in the pictures that this lunchbox was well loved and well used. It is in worn vintage condition. I have tried to present clear pictures of its issues. It appears that an orange crayon permanently distingrated into the metal inside and I could not clean it off. It does close well and the metal fastener works fine. It is 7" x 8" and is 4" deep. Take the Holly Hobbie world domination conspiracy with a grain of salt . . . I also believe in Hanger 51, Big Foot, and Kermit the Frog.

I never saw the oven. I always wanted an Easy Bake when I was a child but my parents couldn't afford it. Now a working one is worth a small mint!

I was older when these came out, but I know how popular they became! I always wanted a lunchbox, but I wanted a Star Trek one (the original series). I never did get one. I did find one oline but the guy wanted $100 for it. It may well have been worth it, but I couldn't afford it. Thank you for checking in!
