Description

The listing, Half Dozen Dunlop Tortex Fin .88 Picks - Crisp/New/GIN Bonus/Free Shipping!!! has ended.

I said I would relist these - and here they are!

Up for grabs we have a halfdozen (6) crisp/new/powder fresh Dunlop Tortex Fin Instrument Picks in size .88

To me these are the greatest picks ever made, and I have personally used them for nearly 25 years. I have no reason to give these away, other than the fact that I know they are unique and generally difficult to get unless you order them online (the last time I found them in an actual music store was around 2004 @ Sam Ash in Cleveland, Ohio - and they only had ONE dozen available!)

If you have never been lucky enough to try these fabulous gems - here is your chance! I am a REAL guitarist/bassist, and THESE are my Go-To picks no matter WHAT I am playing!

***Use the GIN and receive a FULL DOZEN of these picks, and >>>MORE<<<!***

Free Shipping either way, of course!

Listia Verified Addresses only, please. I do not bend or violate Listia Rules - so all do apply to all of my listings. All photos of my items are always actual photos of the items I am offering in the listings. These photos are from the original listing for these picks but are of the exact same batch I am offering here - so I am shamelessly reusing them in this listing. All my items are always available for local pick-up. Unless GIN is used, this item will run a full 6 days to allow for wider exposure.

Please do not hesitate to post any questions, concerns or comments in the comments and I will respond appropriately as soon as I see them.

Thanks for dropping by, and Good Luck in all your Listian endeavours!

Very nice pics. Are they nylon?

far, Far, FAR better than nylon! (I wouldn't use a nylon pick if you PAID me, Lol!)

Here's a descriptive quote from the Jim Dunlop site:

"Going back several decades the most popular material for guitar picks (plectra) was tortoise shell. This material was outlawed in the US and the picks became illegal and very sought after. Celluloid plastic was used in picks to give the appearance of tortoise but the feel is totally different. In 1980 Dunlop Manufacturing developed a new pick material and process that created a pick similar in action and response to the old tortoise shell and with a bit of texture on the surface. Tortoise & Texture = Tortex."

These are by no means fanboy picks - they are truly pro picks for the serious musician. I pay about $5 per dozen for them in bulk, and always get more than I need. (Hence a few listings giving some away!) These will likely be that last 'extras' I post until I re-bulk next year. ;)

Great :) I wonder how well they play. I've been using plastic pics and they SUCK. It is so hard to play a riff with one. I NEED a good pick XD

Yuck - throw those plastic picks away, Lol. Even if you don't win this batch - go buy some of these online: I'm sure you'll be impressed. They are firm, but have a feel to them like no other pick I have ever used. I play a lot of fast stuff, and when my hands get to sweating I need a pick that will stay where I put it. Plastic and nylon, et al, are not good for riffing because most of them will move all over the place if you relax your hand too much (though I did grab up some Cactus Picks on here not long ago that worked fairly well in that department with their little 'stubs' - but unfortunately the tone went out the window.) These have a very smooth tone, and string lag is quite minimal - though it varies a little depending on which edge of the pick you are using.

They have five completely different picking surfaces to them: the three picking points, and the two completely different strumming sides. The long side is great for standard rhythm strumming, and the 'jagged' side is great for quickly getting a pseudo 12-string effect. All three of the picking points sound and feel different from the others. I've never had one snap on me, and I can probably count how many times I've 'lost' one during play on one hand. They are truly THE Swiss Army Knife of guitar picks, and I probably owe a great deal of my sound to them.

If you don't win these - just go online and buy some. I taught guitar for about 10 years starting in the late 1980's, and I used to give these to my students to practice with. Maybe you should put a bug in your teacher's ear. Get THEM to try them - and THEN you will have made an impression!
