From eggplant family. you can eat them. This egg in picture, is about the size of a bantam egg. When it is mature, it will start turning pale yellow, until it turns a golden yellow. Thus it's name-Easter Egg plant, or Magic Egg, I will send 10 seeds. very easy to grow. Solanum melongena, is the real plant name.

can these be planted outside or do they have to be a inside plant. we have cold,snowy,harsh winters. that is why i am asking?

they are not perennial. so it will die this winter. it is really an outside plant, but you can start inside fo transplant outside next spring. Once again--it is annual.
