The passage of the Utah Legal Tender Act in 2011 prompted the introduction of a local, voluntary currency known as the Utah Goldback. The Goldbacks are available in five denominations, each featuring a distinct design inspired by Roman mythology, illustrated with full color high resolution graphics and text. The notes are created from Aurum, which is a thin layer of 24 karat gold coated on each side with a durable polyester film. Accepted as voluntary local currency within the state of Utah, this 10 Utah Goldback is minted with 1/100 Troy oz. of .999 fine gold.

Sensational Colorized Imagery
Justitia, the Roman goddess of Justice, is illustrated on the obverse wearing a blindfold to symbolize her lack of bias. She hold in her hands a sword representing fair judgement, and the Scale of Balance to signify the ideal that true justice is served with a balance of faith. Inscribed "TEN UTAH GOLDBACKS," "VOLUNTARY LOCAL CURRENCY" and "1/100 TROY OUNCE 24K GOLD."
