Description

The listing, Spotted Orchid/ Dactylorhiza fuchsii has ended.

I don't know the name of this particular plant, it grows like a succulent.

It's very pretty in a pot by itself, or as accent to larger, upright plants.

Winner will get a rooted plant.

Does this grow from a bulb? I have something that looks similar and it grows from a bulb. It's called squill. It puts out a spike with tiny blue flowers on it in the spring.

I think this one has tiny bulbs. I won't be able to check until tomorrow. They're outside and I have a very large piece of property and I don't go out at night beyond my garage.

Oh that's ok! Would never expect you to go out n put Urself in harms way! You could even check google images for it and see if that's your plant. There are a few different varieties but what plant Doesn't! hopefully we help you solve the mystery! If that's what it is, it grows in clumps of bulbs and it's really HARD to kill...it's great for people that forget to water plants cuz its really hardy. Tho bulbs do rot if overwatered. Ok I yammered enuf for one night! Let me know what you find out! :))

Well, this one lived through the whole winter - freezing and all with almost no care, and now it's back bigger and stronger. I can't wait to go out and check it out.

The property we live on has 'critters'.. We have a resident bobcat, a mountain lion that floats through every couple of months and lots of rattlesnakes!! I had a Mojave Rattler in my kitchen just a couple of weeks ago. ugh!!!!

I have one of these and the lady who gave it to me said it is often called African Spotted Orchid even though it technically behaves like a cross between a succulent and a lily. I can't recall its scientific name

I will check it out, but I think that's what it might be. Others have suggested the same thing.
