WOW!! This NEC Ready 120 LT Laptop Computer is in Like New Condition. The computer comes loaded with Windows 98. The full color monitor measures 9” diagonally with adjacent built in stereo speakers. IBM Thinkpad style pointer device between the G and H keys allow you to work without the need of a connected mounse. This laptop is light and compact, it easily stows in a bookbag or a backpack so you’ll have it when you need it.

The HDD is 2 GB. RAM is 32 MB. The battery is a 7.2 V 4000mAh Ni-MH battery. Ni-MH is superior to other batteries types, specifically Ni Cad that was more widely used. NiMH batteries can be charged or “topped-off” at any time without affecting battery life. Unlike NiCd batteries, NiMH has No Memory Effect. Also to better answer a previous question: A Network card can be installed in the PCMCIA Slot.

Thank you for asking kristylk - This laptop was purchased in 2000 as a travel laptop. As you can see from the pictures - it didn't see much use - it remains in like new condition. It also comes loaded with Windows 98, Microsoft Word 97, Outlook, Access, Excel, FrontPage, and PowerPoint. Good Luck!

Yes, this computer would be perfectly fine for the average web browser/document writer, to be honest I'm pretty interested in it myself as a nice linux laptop, only thing you really need is a cheap wireless card.

In answer to some peoples questions, no way will this run Windows 2000, the bare minimum for Windows 2000 is 128MB RAM and 233Mhz CPU, you may be able to get away with Windows ME but for Windows your best bet would be 98 or maybe even a copy of NT4 workstation? But honestly if I won this I'd slap linux on it.

Thank you for asking Sandpile. You could hook it up with a dial up connection. If you wanted to hook it up with an ethernet connection or wireless connection you would need to purchase a PCMCIA Card.

Hi Sandpile. The laptop is pretty much ready to go. You would need to hook it up to a dial up connection or purchase a wireless card. I've even seen a few wireless cards up on Listia - You could try to get one for free to go with this laptop. The laptop is also preloaded with Windows 98, Microsoft Word 97, Outlook, Access, Excel, FrontPage, and PowerPoint. That may be helpful for your daughter.
