what metal is the locket?

I don't know what kind of metal it is. The only markings I could find was the makers mark Act11. It's a smooth shiny gold color metal. No tarnish. It opens and holds two small pictures. Nice design on front. Also to: guliannasmommy, I have already changed the pictures once, because the first turned out so dark. They won't let me edit again.. Hope this answers both your questions.Thanks

It's 1"inch from top of the little loop that holds the chain to bottom, and 5/8"inch wide across the middle.
