The listing, 1936 Russia Childrens Pioneer stamps (3), U/VF, Scott #583-585 has ended.
Up for auction are three 1936 used/VF Russia stamps showing the Soviet Children's Pioneers in action. The first two stamps show Pioneers installing a mail box, and the third depicts "preventing destruction of property". The Pioneers were similar to the Scouts (prohibited in Soviet Russia by the Communist Party). However, they were more exposed to the realities of war and the last photo shows young Pioneers wearing gas masks in Leningrad in 1937. This is a short set, Scott #s 583-585.
