I have this card of Urban [Red] Faber or the Cicago White Sox. He was one of the few spitball pitchers in the big league. He claims a spitball is easier on the arm than a curve. He has been pitching in the American League since 1914 and twice led the league in effectiveness. One year, he won two and lost 11. He starred in the world series in 1917, winning three out of four games. He was born in Cascade, IA and was six feet, one inch tall and wrighed 175 lbs. He pitched a game before the King of England in London on the European tour of the White Sox and Giants in 1914
