What is the distance it can reach?

I am not sure of the exact distance it can reach up to, but I do know it gave me full mobility with my notebook. Our Modem/router is in the basement & we could never get wireless on the 3rd floor, but this device created that wireless capability w/o ever dropping the connection. It really is quite handy.

will it work for windows 7?

The box doesn't specifically say Windows 7. I have Vista & it works perfectly with it.

Looked it up online & no it is not compatible. I apologize!!
