An Altarpiece by DEFENDENTE FERRARI
(Period of 1511-1535)
Ferrari was a Piedmontese painter born in Chiuasso and worked mostly in Turin and for the Dukes of Savoy.
In his taste for detail, as well as individual tones and methods of illumination, he shows tendencies of near-Nordic origin, then foreign to the Italian Schools.
