Description

The listing, Antique Vintage Maruwa Co. Japan Cultured Pearl & White Gold Fine Silver 5 strand Choker Necklace has ended.

Antique Vintage Cultured pearl 5 strand choker necklace made by the Maruwa Co. of Japan.

Comes with the original Maruwa Pearl Company Box

5 Strands of off white/ faintly peach colored baby pearls

Dividers and decorative flowers at clasps are made of either white gold or fine silver. I'm not sure which one but this is dauthentic fine jewelry.

The hook is the original hook clasp. However I had to replace the O ring on the other side of the clasp with a silver-plated O from my costume jewelery craft Kit. It's the only thing on this necklace tht is not original.

There is some wear on the pearls on the bottom strand at the front of the necklace, perhaps from excessive wear, however the rest of the necklace is in great shape. (I have included close up pictures of this part of the necklace) It will be a long time, if ever the pearls will need to be re-strung, as you can see in the close up picture of the flower end clasp that they are strung tightly on a very strongly woven cord.

This is a great piece of fine jewelry made with attention to details and quality materials.

The length is 12"
It is made for someone with a slender neck. However, an extendable chain hook or some more O rings may be added to the O ring side of the clasp to make it longer if it doesn't fit, as it would look stunning on anybody.

I bought this at an Old New Orleans Mansion estate sale with other pieces of stunning fine jewelry. Some of which I will be auctioning off later. This necklace is beautiful, however I am not a choker person.

Pearls will be shipped with confirmation.

I accept Paypal or concealed cash for shipping costs . Please do not ask for free shipping. I CAN NOT afford to ship this item to you without your help.

Please feel free to ask me anything else about the necklace though and I will provide answers to what I know.

I am not responsible for buyers remorse so make sure you ask all questions before bidding.

Thank you and happy BIdding!

These are lovely. They are made for a tiny person tho! LOL They seemed to be such tiny women back then, didn't they? Tiny wrists, tiny waists, tiny necks....sigh. It would be simple to add an extender chain to it, though. Just gorgeous...love em! F&W!! I love vintage pearls!!!!!!

I had know idea. I bought them in the box at an estate sale uptown in New Orleans and they seem like they fit the box and look like a nice item but no, I had no idea why they were wearing down. It puzzled me too. But I guess we know why now!

@patrodgers123......I have been doing research on pearls because its hard to tell the $50,000 from the $500 ones.....I found that the expensive ones have luster from the core, while the inexpensive ones have luster in some places or have had a luster dip (which I dont think existed when these were made) These are worth some $$$ but if the "paint" or "Luster" is chipping not $50,000 worth LOL

are these heavy? also, could you take a sewing needle and try to "poke" where it is chipped and let us know if it scratches the pearl or leaves a puncture mark? Im interested, just dont have them in my hands, so I cant tell what we are dealing with here LOL.
