Description

The listing, Heirloom Tomato ✽ SPOON CURRANT ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

This is one of the smallest currant tomatoes available. Plant produces heavy yields of tiny red pea size tomatoes in long bunches with big taste for a little fruit. Children love them! Resists cracks in late summer. These plants survived 2 frosts in our area and continued producing because I let them sprawl on the ground without a trellis. Plant away from other varieties of tomatoes if saving seeds. Mine come back every year where I have them planted, but don't usually reach maturity. It is better to start them early in pots.

Days: 65
Size: Indeterminate
Color: Red
Season: Mid-Season
Type: Open-Pollinated Heirloom
Uses: snacking, salads

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I will need a phone number if sending International. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 3 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring of 2012. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
