No it doesn't 'light up', its about being luminescent and EASIER to see the keyboard. The large characters on the keyboard give it an added benefit too. BTW, items all prepared and ready for USPS.

It looks like that material that gets a 'charge' from light.. or... daylight... and then at night it 'glows'... so, I would bet that it does actually light up! I love it!
