- Rainbow Penny & Hollow Penny in Protective Coin Capsule - Made by The United States Mint & Tekn9ne11

Hello fellow listians! i like to do a lot of weird crafy type stuff when im bored. which include glass blowing/Lampwork stuff, and i also collect coins.
so one day by chance & boredom those two hobbies came together and i figured out that i can change pennies into different colors, make them multiple colors, polish them and even give them shiny pearlescent or irridescent metallic sheens by using different fuels or air mixtures.
i enjoy making them and i like to experiment with all the different possibilities of the final result. they are really pretty and can be drilled to be used for jewelry if you would like. by drilling some of these pennies one night i got the idea of filing all of the background field out of certain coin designs. well.... this penny is what i came up with. i chose to remove the date for ease of filing but also thought it would make the piece more "timeless" so to speak, and better in appearance for use as a jewelry piece. (it was a 2008 p incase you are wondering).

Please Bid if you think these are cool and i will list more.

also, i like the idea of these being a unique item so i will not be mass producing or spam auctioning these off... they will almost certainly be one of a kind item ( due to the nature and timeframe of the handmade process they will never be identical to the ones before) the penny took about 4 hours to file...and boy were my fingers sore...sob sob (sympathy plee. lol)

So please Bid, Bid, Bid! :)
Thank you for Looking. & Good Luck to All(if Any) Bidders!

mrsolar2012 they are new pennies that you can find anywhere, not collectable In any way and he made them something you can put into a collection and admire

thank you very much for your comment and bids! i feel the same way. that they are more interesting modified, seeing how i get dozens of them everyday in my change. the thing that bothers me is that new pennies are not even real copper anymore and have 0 intrinsic value, and cost more to make then what they are worth... but that is a whole nother topic. ;) good luck and thanks again!

I actually collect toned coins. This penny is beautiful! What u have done with the one is just absolutely amazing. It is also cool that you're not using any coins that have an actual value.

What are your guys thoughts on me filing a mercury dime or a silver quarter? and making a well made charm/pendant out of it? because i found a place where i can buy pure silver wire that i can solder on for a bale or loop. the wire is kinda pricy so im still kickin the idea around.

and dont worry im a coin collector so i wont "ruin" any valuable key dates or anything graded over good... just a couple bucks in scrap silver at most ;)
