Based on the original Japanese animated series that ran in the late 60s, Speed Racer: The Next Generation is a new take on the show. This 66 minute movie kicks off the series, introducing a young race car driver named Speed, an orphan with a preternatural ability behind the wheel. He enrolls at the prestigious Racing Academy to pursue his talent, but danger seems to lurk around every corner: winning a race is a goal that some, like evil billionaire Zile Zazic will go to any lengths to reach, no matter how sinister. Speed has his crew, Lucy, Conor, and Chim Chim the Robot to help him, but his mysterious rival, racer X still poses quite a threat - and X's true identity could turn out to be a secret that none of them can handle.
