Beautiful 1940s Vintage Persian Mink & Lamb Coat from Gimbels NY

Coat has a tear under the left arm pit. Can be repaired fairly easily but recommend it is done by a professional.

Found this great find at a vintage clothing store near me. However it does not fit me :(

How long is the tear? Does the tag say large? vintage clothing often runs smaller than todays sizing so could you take some measurements. Length of arms from shoulder down. back of coat across arm pit to arm pit. and across the front middle from seam to seam? Sorry to be a pest but I'm lovin" this!

Tear is approx. 5 inches. measurements are: underarm to bottom of sleeve--161/2"----shoulder down arm--22"---armpit to armpit--201/2"---across front middle seam to seam 14"(28" across whole front And, there is no size in it I was guessing by people trying it on (that's how I figured it is a large)
