hey lisab22, in all honesty I think it would be fine in length but I think the diameter would be too big :( I just measured it to be sure and I think it would be best suited for a small dog around 25 to 35 lbs. I have a couple more sweaters I will be posting next week when I get back home. Thanks for asking and I hope I can post one next week that will work out well for you. My furry kiddos grew too fast for the ones I have. Best wishes

My dog weighs 10 lbs. and is 16" long in body and 17" around at chest. It sounds like your sweater would be too big for her too? It is so perfect for a little girl. It's a beautiful item. Maybe next time!
