This is a IDE HDD. Just to make sure you know SATA is the Newer style and looks like a sideways L Shape for both power and Data connectors. IDE is pin based. Of course there is also Scuzzi HDD's but this is a totally different option.

i dont know. it wont work for a laptop though i dont think. works for desktop computers and dvr's

2.5 inch is for laptops - 3.5 inch is for desktops
