The listing, (10) 1943 World War II Steel Wheat Pennies has ended.

Offering 10 "Steel" Wheat Pennies from 1943. They were only produced for one year due to the need to conserve copper during World War II. These coins were minted with a Zinc coating over the steel. they are relatively rust free making them very collectible. These Steel pennies were only minted for one year!

What i've seen so far was an old $20 that has "Confederate states of America" on it. from 1864, another $1, a $2 bill from 76',$5, didn't look at the year. and some other things i haven't got a clue what they are or even if their real. a bunch of coins. a lot of old stamps also. but from what i've been reading i need to do some research before i list them , because i don't want anyone feeling like i'm trying to rip them off.
I didn't want to screw with them ,just wanted them gone.
But everytime you post something on listia someone has to henpeck it to death.
I don't really care what happens to this collection. I was going to chuck the whole thing in the goodwill box. Thats why i was using "Fake" pics. I just didn't want to mess with it.
But now my wife has her hands in it, because it might be worth money. So now she will take the time to look everything up and take "Real" pics of them..Thanks for all the info.

I understand the auction, but thanks, I was just reading other comments and people keep asking about the picture, if they are the coins they are bidding on, Just didnt want people to think you were miss representing, just trying to help! But back to the copper 1943 pennies, one sold at auction for like $85,000. Wander how many were actually made that year. Great Auction, and good luck! F&W!

No problem, I try to describe my items to the best of my knowledge, But i know nothing about old money, I'm not a collector , My mom was. So, from what i understand so far is that i need to do more research and go thru them before i sell them, Only thing is, some of then are sealed and i didn't want to open them.Thanks and fanned back.

I'm going to, but i need to do some research on it. I have no idea what to list it for, I'm not a collector, my mom was. Only thing i remember about that $20 dollar bill, She showed it to me when i was about 6 of 7 yrs. old. That was the last time i seen it until now. Which was 40 yrs. ago. and i remember my dad saying something about how much she was going to pay for it back then because they didn't really have the extra money to buy it , but she really wanted it, so he got it for her as a surprise for Christmas or Birthday.
I remember it because , i was thinking."Why would anyone want money they can't spend for Christmas/Birthday".

The ones i sold right before these went for 6050 credits, and he was very satisfied with them. I really don't see whats so confusing, I can try to explain it better. 5 steel pennies and a One Dollar Silver Certificate Series 1957A. I replaced the fake pennies that were in the case with the One Dollar Silver Certificate Series 1957A.So what your bidding on is 5 1943 World War II Steel Wheat Pennies and a One Dollar Silver Certificate Series 1957A

Wonder if anyonw has ever tried to go to the treasury department to turn these Silver Certificates in for there value in silver. The bills probably worth more, but if you had thirtyfive of them do you think the treasury would still pay to me "on demand" thirtyfive dollars in silver. LOL that wou;ld be fun to try, if nothing else

wow the two in the middle are in amazing shap. I discovered the steel pennies 15 years ago in the most confusiing way. Owned an antique shop in Cali. had never heard of steel pennies befor. I was playing with a magnat and it dropped in a bown of coins i had on my display. When i picked the magnite up four coins were stuck to it...LOL at the time this REALLY messed with my head. Anyway I love these coins its good to see some in such good condition.

I really don't know anything about grading coins. these were my mom's coins, She kept them in plastic containers in a wooden lock box. I have a bunch of them.I have coins and bills that I'm going to put on here soon, i 'just need time to go Threw them and see what i have. From what i can tell they are in good/fair condition. The photos are promo pics. I can try and take pics of the ones i have, but i can't seem to get a good photo.Hope this helps.
