This is a totally real recipe. Yes, people do eat opossums, as well as many other things that some of us might find odd. I know of many old cookbooks that have recipes for all kinds of interesting things. I also have listed a recipe for squirrel and if there is some other odd thing that you are looking for let me know and I will check all of my mom's old recipes and see if I cannot find it for you...how about rattlesnake, armadillo, rabbit, pigeon. Thought it would be fun to put up some of the antique strange recipes.
