I saw the exact same type of box at a thrift store the other day for 5$ ugh. I wish I would have got it. It looked brand new like someone made it. I guess thats possible but probably was just in good condition. O well. Nice auction. F&W
Well I guess you should havce gotten it, as you can see from the pictures this one isn't brand new. I don't even think it is home made, but it could be. Thank you. Hope you bid!
F&w awesome box i saw one kind of like it on e-bay for $150.00.i hope you get a good amount for this one always love your auction but this is the best one yet!!!!
Yes, indeed! The 40's were a long time ago now, lol! Just a guess that I would do better to say 1920's-1940's. Because of the croc hide, it makes me think of a travel case, or train case in the time when affluent people would 'travel the world'. It's a nice case, and I'm bidding! Nice of you to offer all those other things as well, with it! I think this case would do fine by itself, it's awesome! Don't forget, many people don't bid until nearer the end, then their points aren't tied up.
Well when the auction began the watchers were pouring in and I half expected to get my 100 watchers badge on this one. Wierd because I have listed tons of stuff and an old box gets the most attention. Go figure!!
I like the box, but too bad someone stuck those modern hinges on there : ( I'd have to look for some more closely matching brass ones. I don't know how old either, but I see a couple of Phillip's Head screws in it as well. My guess for age would be 1940's (?) Just a guess! F&B!
I really don't know. Thats why I tried to take lots of pics so ppl could see what I see and make a better decision. 1940 is pretty old though isn't it?
