Description

The listing, Gorgeous Double White Hollyhock Seeds*20-40-60 Seeds* has ended.

Wow, these are beautiful and proud spikes of big White delicate flowers! They are called "Double", but they are full like Carnations. Even the leaves are pretty, and edible!

Height: from 4' to 8' tall
They start blooming at the bottom of the tall spike in the spring and continue to open into mid summer.
Plant in the fall or in the spring, cover with leaves, straw, or mulch in cold areas.
It helps to plant next to the house, garage, fence, or retaining wall. It holds them up when there are high winds. A customer asked about using a trellis. That would be great. You could tie the tall stalks to it if you have high winds.

Ours stopped blooming in August, but new plants are coming up from the same plants (2nd pic taken in Sept.). Cool!

Great cut flowers, floating in a pretty bowl or wine glass!

Decorate Chocolate cakes or cupcakes with them. They are edible. We never use chemicals in our gardens.

Seed collecting: The seed pods look like little drawstring purses. Leave them on the stalk until they are tan/brown, dry, and crispy. Then collect them and save to trade or share with your friends and envious neighbors.

The lucky winner will receive 20 White Double Hollyhock seeds.

*If this auction goes over 1,000 credits, I will add 20 more seeds. 40 seeds total.

** If it goes over 2,000 credits you will get 60 seeds!

How long to you think they take to grow?

They grow leaves and a strong root system the first year, especially if planted in the fall before. That's what I did here in NE. If planted in the spring, they may not bloom until the following summer in some areas, but it depends on the growing zone. California weather may be faster.

If you win them, I could mail them to you Aunt instead of you. But, all it takes is 2 stamps and drop them in the mailbox if you wanted to mail them.
