The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ Larry Hisle RC has ended.
Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). Please note this is a lower-grade condition lot, with all cards having creases and/or other issues. But then again, these cards are 44 years old. Neat bit of history, but if you're picky about condition, this is not the auction for you.
Phillies Rookie Stars LARRY HISLE & BARRY LERSCH - Hisle was a 2-time All-Star, leading the AL in RBI in 1977, and 2nd in home runs in 1978 behind Jim Rice.
White Sox Rookie Stars BOB CHRISTIAN & GERRY NYMAN - Bob's time was cut short when died of leukemia in 1974 at age 28. Nyman threw a shutout in his first career start, but couldn't continue that success.
ZOILO VERSALLES (SS, Padres) was the AL MVP in 1965.
BOB JOHNSON (IF, Braves) played 11 seasons in the majors, including on the '66 Orioles team that won the World Series with Brooks and Frank Robinson.
GALEN CISCO (P, Royals) pitched a few years for the Red Sox and Mets, later becoming a pitching coach, notably for the championship Blue Jays teams of the early 90s.
TOM DUKES (P, Padres) pitched 6 years, helping Baltimore win the pennant in '71.
JAY JOHNSTONE (OF, Angels) was a utility player in the majors for 20 years, winning a couple rings along the way ('78 Yankees & '81 Dodgers) with a nice .476 career postseason average.
WALLY BUNKER (P, Royals) was runner-up to Tony Oliva for AL ROY in '64 when he posted a 19-5 record for Baltimore. He threw a shutout in game 3 of the '66 WS.
