The listing, 60gig PS3 with YLOD has ended.

I have a 60gig PS3 that currently has the YLOD aka the Yellow Light of Death. Basically what's wrong is that the thermal paste inside the system has worn off and has caused a few things to lose their connections. From what I've heard it's a simple fix, but I'm not too keen on opening the thing up and taking the chance of making it worse somehow when I already have a new PS3 for myself. Due to the size and weight of it I won't be offering free shipping. Paypal is the accepted form of payment.

In order to get better results with your auction, please add a clear, close-up picture of your ACTUAL item (NOT just a STOCK PHOTO). Flat rate for shipping ps3 is usually 10 to 15 bucks, would this be about right? F&W

Just a heads up to whoever wins, this is the same model ps3 I have, getting this fixed means it's worth more, it's worth more because it plays ps1,ps3 and of course ps3 games.

Well I got my kit in today so I will try to fix mine and if I do I will bid high to win this one it is exactly the same model as mine but you have to promise me you haven't already tried and not been able to fix it,Thanks

I researched the issue for a while and asked a few of my buddies who have had the YLOD along with discussing it on some forums. That was before I got my new PS3 to replace it though. At that time I was considering fixing it myself so I wanted to know exactly what all could cause the YLOD before I ever opened it. Then I finally decided it would be better for me personally to just buy a new system rather than risking screwing up on fixing it and not only voiding the warrenty so Sony wouldn't fix it but also being out the money for the kit and still having a broken ps3.

I'm watching this and possibly bidding if I have the proper credits (which I will in a day or so)...I am a pc nerd at heart and should be able to fix this thing OK...looks like it's just the system with no controllers or cords, right? Did you know that you can google this item and they have a kit to fix this problem, google sony playstation 3 ylod and it will tell you how lol

Yup I know they do, but I'd rather let the person who buys it take the chance at messing it up more rather than me taking that risk and winding up screwing up and making it unfixable.
