The listing, *CHECK ME OUT!!!!* EXOTIC BURMESE FISHTAIL PALM (CARYOTA MITITS) SUPER EASY TO GROW! has ended.

These seeds were harvested from my own 30 plus foot fishtails. They are VERY easy to grow. I live in FL zone 9b/10. A 3 foot tall plant goes for $50.00 bucks at most nurseries, why not create your own tropical paradise with a seed for much cheaper??

How tall & wide do they grow? What type of soil is best? What zones will they survive in? Can they be planted in pots. How fast do they grow? If planted outside what temps. will they not live through? I am interested alot. if this can be used as indoor plant for a lengthy period of time I am all in . Thanks for sharing F & W

It's for ten seeds. They grow up to 30 feet tall and can be used as a privacy screen. They are a tropical plant, but I live in zone 10 with zone 6 plants blooming outside, always pushing the limits. They grow average, perhaps a bit faster than most, I would plant in a pot with half peat moss half...wait....I just answered this question for someone else..let me cut and paste........these plants are originallly from Burma, which is in the South Pacific. TROPICAL. Use a rich half peat moss half potting soil mixture & provide ample sunlight. Protect from ANY cold (below 40 degrees), and keep trimming back. Make sure pot has lots of holes in bottom and after it has set, take plant out of pot and cut the root ball to size, like you would a bonsai so it doesn't get root bound, make sure soil is well aerated, what i do is sprinkle some packing peanuts instead of pot sherds in the bottom of the pot, this way they will ALWAYS provide ample drainage, put plate underneath, never let sit in water to prevent root rot and once your lil fishtail has established itself trim, trim, trim or your houseplant will take over your house!! Good luck! Casey

thanks bunchs for info. I also use the packing peanuts in all my plants even the ones I place in the ground. the ground is poor here with bad drainage so the peanuts help keep off the water that dont drain well or is slow at draining. I even place my fertilizer in the packing peanuts. Love the auction Thanks for sharing

No problem at all, fellow gardener. It's a passion. & knowledge is endless, especially if you continue to teach, share and learn, and know that there is no such thing as attaining knowledge of everything, you will become a pro at whatver your passion is, and in the path that leads you there you will influence and touch & enrich many others lives and hopefully brighten that spark of awe that we all had in the world and nature when we were once young and guilless.
