this appears to be a counterfeit 1982d quarter its made of stainless steel and has a smooth edge. possible made in china fake ? I found it when I used a coin machine the copy is good enough to fool most people if you don't look very close best of luck in bidding

Yes, it is counterfeit, I have seen this one before. Several of these have been reported already, usually in the northern states. Someone made them knowing most folks would never notice, or even care for such a small amount.
