It would hang loose but don't think it would look bad, I wear a large now and it is too loose for me but if I were an xl again I would wear it..

I know my husband and I lost 30 pounds over last summer but the wintertime we put a little bit back on I was a large the last summer I will get back to it again maybe even a medium! lol
