Mini Lobata (Firecracker Vine)
Ipomoea lobata

A native to Central and South America, this easy to grow and attractive looking vine also goes by several other common names including Firecracker vine, Spanish Flag and Exotic Love. Growing up to 20' in a single season, this very fast grower will quickly cover a fence or other structure. A profuse bloomer from late spring to the first frosts with scarlet flowers fading to orange, yellow, and white-cream. Since it grows and blooms so quickly this tender perennial is most often treated as an annual. Flowers are long lasting and appear in groups on 8-12" stems that are great for cut flowers. This plant is also a great attraction for butterflies and hummingbirds. Hardy to zone 9.
